The Library Legacy Capital Campaign

In 1905, the first public library opened in Klamath Falls. This year, the Library enters its second millennium by undertaking a modernization of the main library building.

The most pressing need is to improve the children's area of the library. Programs for children, including pre-school story times and Summer Reading, have grown so popular that they overtake the entire library! Expanding the children's section will provide space for these programs, as well as relieve pressure on the rest of the facility.

Service to children is a central part of the library's mission. Programs for children set the stage for success in school, as well as open up the world of life-long learning.

There are other areas of the library that are also outdated, and require improvement. Library supporters hope to provide adequate shelf space and services to support programs and attendance levels not envisioned decades ago, and modernize lighting and insulation to lower costs.

YOU CAN HELP! Your contribution to the Library Legacy Campaign can help this vision become reality. Your gift - of your time or money - will help make meaningful history by providing a library facility capable of meeting the challenges of our community into the next century.
